Sitting pretty with PLANEfurniture

[Alyson Kuhn] Michael Boyd, designer of the PLANEfurniture line, collects modernist furniture, art, architecture and design books, and ephemera. Last year, he decided to create a line of modernist-inspired furniture that “makes you think, holds your body, eases your mind, and sits well within your budget.” That’s a quote from the jacket flap of PLANEfurniture: types + prototypes, designed by Mick Hodgson of Ph.D, A Design Office. I recently sat in some of the furniture and can confirm that it is quite user-friendly.

Submit your “Greatest Card on Earth” to the LOUIE Awards by December 15th

Greeting card designers: there’s still time to enter your cards into the 24th annual LOUIE Awards competition. Submissions must be postmarked by December 15th, and winners will be announced during the National Stationery Show next May. Submit your card here, and check out last year’s winners after the jump.

Last year’s Cards of the Year were “Hamburger” by American Greetings in the Above $3.50 category, and ”Dog Birthday” from icanhascheezburger in partnership with The Madison Park Group, in the $3.50 and Below category. [SJ]
