Simon Page’s incredible chemistry posters

[Sami Jensen] I admit, I avoided Chemistry like the plague in college, but there’s no doubt that chemistry is cool. Advancements in Chemistry help to create potable water, clean air, dependable medicine, communications tools like cellular phones and computers, eco-friendly packaging, sustainable energy and much more. To honor the contributions of chemists — and to coincide with the 100th anniversary of Marie Curie’s Nobel Prize — the United Nations has declared 2011 the International Year of Chemistry.

After a successful collaboration in 2009 (the International Year of Astronomy), British graphic designer Simon C. Page was asked to design collateral for this year’s campaign. With a background in science and mathematics, Page takes pleasure in designing for these academic fields. His latest prints series pays homage to the contributions of John Dalton, Albert Einstein, Marie Curie and other scientists and scientific discoveries.

Page’s prints were created with the goal of increasing public appreciation of Chemistry, encouraging interest in Chemistry among young people, and to generating enthusiasm for the creative future of Chemistry.
