Creative Chain: Connecting creatives one link at a time, week four

[Emily Potts] Last week we were inspired by three amazing artists: Henning Wagenbreth, Sophie Dutertre and Placid. In keeping with the French artist theme, I’m starting off this week’s Creative Chain with an illustrator I deeply admire and respect.

Sitting pretty with PLANEfurniture

[Alyson Kuhn] Michael Boyd, designer of the PLANEfurniture line, collects modernist furniture, art, architecture and design books, and ephemera. Last year, he decided to create a line of modernist-inspired furniture that “makes you think, holds your body, eases your mind, and sits well within your budget.” That’s a quote from the jacket flap of PLANEfurniture: types + prototypes, designed by Mick Hodgson of Ph.D, A Design Office. Announcing winner of kate spade new york fall artist prints

Last week, we introduced you to the artists who designed the beautiful artwork for the fall series prints from kate spade new york. With one limited-edition set in hand to give away, we asked you to tell us what you love most about this time of year.

Every comment was wonderful, but only one could be chosen. We used random.org to pick a winner. Congratulations to Lisa Guillot, who wrote, “Celebrating my son’s 1st birthday, celebrating the rebirth of my garden, sunshine, bubbles, water fountains, and stunning design. As a graphic designer I am a huge fan of Mohawk Superfine, subtle to the touch, and kate spade is hands-down my favorite design inspiration.”

Spring prints winner: Cam.
Summer prints winner: Allegra.

Come back to see the winter artist series and another giveaway! Speaking of which, we’re announcing another giveaway tomorrow morning on Twitter — are you following @feltandwire? [SJ]

Thank you for the absolutely fabulous prints! Though picked randomly, I am honored to have been chosen. Love the designs and can’t wait to hang them. Seriously thinking about repainting the studio to match.

    Have a lovely sunny weekend,
    Lisa, Step Brightly Creative Group
