[Alyson Kuhn] Rachel Hazell is a book artist and have-punch-will-travel teacher of book arts. London-born Hazell, who currently lives in Edinburgh, has grand plans for 2012. She is scheduling a bookbinding workshop in a different part of the world each month. January’s was in Hebden Bridge, Yorkshire; March’s will be on the Summer Isles in Northwest Scotland. Coming Soon: Felt & Wire Shop [Tracy Smith] We are super-excited to announce next month’s launch of Felt & Wire Shop, where you can indulge your paper obsession(s) in a very tangible and tactile way. This curated marketplace will connect designers of paper goods and related services with buyers who appreciate great design.
What is a curated marketplace, you ask? Felt & Wire Shop will showcase products {and related services} from designers and artists who are hand-picked via invitation or application. This means the shop will be chock full of great products, some of which you’ll not see anywhere else. You’ll find excellent examples of the expected {posters, note cards, journals, etc.} and the unexpected {lamps, jewelry, picture frames – all made with paper}. You’ll also find a fontastic hand-letterer or two. For sellers, Felt & Wire Shop is a great new channel for existing retail paper products and services – and an easy way to test new product ideas. To be among the first to know when Felt & Wire Shop opens, or if you would like to become a seller, let us know. In the meantime, be sure to check back here for updates. Next week we’ll give you a sneak peek at some of the great designers you will find at Felt & Wire Shop.
